Midden-Aarde zoals je het kent!
Het toerisme in Nieuw-Zeeland kreeg een enorme boost naar aanleiding van The Lord of The Rings filmreeks. De prachtige beelden van Midden-Aarde uit de films is voor een groot deel opgenomen in Nieuw-Zeeland. The Lord of the Rings komt er ook als serie en verschijnt op Amazon Prime.
De productie is in volle gang en Amazon heeft bekendgemaakt dat ze, net als de films, naar Nieuw-Zeeland gaan afreizen om de serie op te nemen. Zo komt het Midden-Aarde dat je kent uit de films mooi terug in de series. Een stap die voor fans als muziek in de oren zal klinken. Amazon zegt er zelf het volgende over:
As we searched for the location in which we could bring to life the primordial beauty of the Second Age of Middle-earth, we knew we needed to find somewhere majestic, with pristine coasts, forests, and mountains, that also is a home to world-class sets, studios, and highly skilled and experienced craftspeople and other staff. And we’re happy that we are now able to officially confirm New Zealand as our home for our series based on stories from J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings. – producers J.D. Payne en Patrick McKay
Voor Nieuw-Zeeland is dit ook goed nieuws. Mocht de serie een hit worden dan zit dat met het toerisme nog wel goed de komende jaren. Het is nog niet geheel duidelijk wanneer The Lord of the Rings verschijnt op Prime.
